Now in its fifth year, the Legends Invitational, curated by Randall Noldge of Cycle Showcase, remains a cornerstone of the SmokeOut Legends Gallery—a carefully curated exhibition honoring the builders who laid the foundation of the custom motorcycle movement while showcasing the innovators carrying that tradition into the future. Through Cycle Showcase, Noldge has earned a national reputation for producing invitational motorcycle exhibitions that celebrate craftsmanship, originality, and the people whose vision has defined custom motorcycle culture. His passion for preserving the history of the chopper movement while recognizing today’s emerging builders has made the Legends Invitational one of the signature attractions of SmokeOut.
“This invitational is more than a bike display—it’s about honoring the people who carried the torch when nobody else would, and introducing the ones who are lighting the path ahead,” said Chris Callen, SmokeOut producer and custom builder himself. “It’s a living time capsule of what chopper culture has always been—DIY, bold, personal, and passed on by hand.”
Each invited builder will be in attendance throughout the weekend, giving attendees the rare opportunity to meet the minds and hands behind these extraordinary machines. From garage-built choppers and period-correct diggers to contemporary custom interpretations, the motorcycles on display represent decades of craftsmanship, innovation, and the independent spirit that has always defined custom motorcycle culture.
In addition to the Legends Invitational, the Legends Gallery will also feature the return of the Tankful Art Benefit Exhibit—a collection of custom-painted motorcycle gas tanks created by some of the country’s top motorcycle artists and auctioned to benefit Meals on Wheels Rowan. The gallery is also home to the SmokeOut Hall of Fame, honoring influential figures whose contributions helped shape the custom motorcycle movement and the legacy of SmokeOut, including icons such as Indian Larry, Roadside Marty, and many others whose impact continues to inspire builders today.
